Each vehicle owner or driver must insure their liability in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan №446-II of 01.07.2003 “On Mandatory Vehicle Owner’s Third Party Liability Insurance”.

Operation of a vehicle without MTPLI VO is not allowed.

Mandatory Third Party Liability Insurance applies to the owners of:

• passenger cars, trucks, buses, minivans and vehicles built on their base, motorcycles and trailers (semitrailers) thereto, registered (subject to state registration) with the traffic police departments of internal affairs authorities, as well as trams and trolleybuses;

• vehicles that have entered (were imported into) the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan temporarily;
  
• vehicles referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2, delivered under own power from manufacturing companies, repair and trading organizations and customs control agencies to the place of registration, and deregistered at the traffic police department of internal affairs authorities due to change of owner’s place of residence or variation in ownership right.
  

Third party liability of the vehicle owner must be insured for each vehicle operated by them.

Insurance premium (cost of policy) is determined by the Law “On Mandatory Vehicle Owner’s Third Party Liability Insurance”.

Insured Person

Vehicle owner - a physical or a legal person who beneficially owns a vehicle, or holds it on the basis of the right of economic management, or on any other legal grounds (lease contract, power of attorney to operate the vehicle due to competent authority’s order to transfer the vehicle, and other).

Payment of Compensation per Occurrence

for any harm caused to life or health of each injured and entailing:

* depending on severity level:

• Group I - 800;

• Group II - 600:

• Group III - 500;

• Disabled Child - 500;

• dismemberment, personal injury or other impairment of health without disability diagnosis - in the amount of actual expenses for out-patient and (or) in-patient treatment, but not more than 300.

for damage caused to the property of one affected person:

for damage caused to the property two or more victims at the same time:

However, total amount of insurance compensation to all victims cannot exceed 2000 MCI. In case of exceeding the extent of damage over the ceiling of liability of the insurer insurance compensation to each victim is paid in proportion to the extent of damage caused to their property.

If the limits (sum insured) on mandatory vehicle owner’s third party liability insurance is insufficient for you, we can offer you a facultative vehicle owner’s third party liability insurance contract (FVO TPLI) with the acceptable ceilings of liability.
