The annual meeting of the SKIJ club, whose members are sports journalists from all over the world, was held last week for the first time in Almaty. For 69 years, SKIJ has united sports journalists and ski enthusiasts.
The event was attended by 150 ski journalists from 32 countries, including the USA, Canada, Italy, Belgium, Croatia, Bulgaria, etc. Traditionally, competitions are held in three age groups among men and women. The Shymbulak ski resort hosted ski slalom competitions, while cross-country skiing competitions took place in the Soldatskoye Gorge at the Alatau ski and biathlon complex.
Eurasia IC has supported the competition by providing participants with insurance coverage against accidents, and also ensured that the Medical Assistance Group ambulance crew was on stand-by duty.
